I had the opportunity of being the site you chose to pilot study ScheduleMD. Indeed I worked alongside you to help develop the concept and fine tune its applicability in a medical office. My patients and I soon discovered how the internet access to my practice schedule in real time improved their access to making and keeping appointments. My staff was relieved of the task of making appointments as it shifted to the patients themselves.
ScheduleMD was not difficult for the patients to navigate through, and in fact, the majority felt it was far more convenient than making an appointment on the phone and/or in the office. Since so many people lead active lives and are pressed for time, they preferred to make appointments from their own PCs when they had time. During the pilot, we achieved a level of 484 appointments scheduled per month for our two person practice.
ScheduleMD drastically reduced the number of “No Shows”, as the patients took their appointments more seriously, since they actually made them and they had consented to be financially responsible by linking the cost of the visits to a checking account (ACH) or credit card. ScheduleMD freed my staff from having to collect co pays and chase patients for No Show charges. For those patients that did not show, we were able to collect a no show fee for each and every appointment, where our prior collection rate for these fees had previously been under 1%.
ScheduleMD was a great asset to my office: it was widely accepted by my patients, effectively reduced my staff’s labor by shifting scheduling appointments to the patients and greatly increased the collection of both co-payment and no show fees with the ability to charge ACH or credit cards.
I highly regard ScheduleMD as an asset to any physician’s practice.
